Donations and refunds
Last updated October 2026
Thank you for supporting North Coast Cat Rescue. This policy explains how donations work and what happens if something goes wrong.
How your donation is used
Donations go directly to caring for cats: vet treatment, desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, food, litter and foster supplies. We're run entirely by volunteers, so no donations go towards wages.
If you donate to a specific appeal, we'll use it for that purpose. If an appeal raises more than it needs, extra funds go to the general care of our cats.
Tax deductibility
At this time, donations to North Coast Cat Rescue are not tax-deductible. We're working towards obtaining Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and will update this page when that changes. We're happy to provide a receipt for your records.
How donations are processed
Online donations are processed securely by PayPal. Your card details go directly to PayPal and are never seen or stored by us. You can also donate by bank transfer using the details on our Donate page. You can also post a cheque, payable to North Coast Cat Rescue, to PO Box 1269, STANHOPE GARDENS NSW 2768.
Receipts
PayPal sends an automatic receipt for online donations. For cheques, we’ll email you a receipt if you include your email address. For bank transfers, email [email protected] with your name, the date and the amount and we’ll send you one. If you need a receipt in a different format, email [email protected].
Refunds
If you've made a mistake, such as donating the wrong amount or donating twice, contact us within 30 days at [email protected] and we'll refund it. Please include your name, the date and the amount. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
After 30 days, or if the donation has already been spent on a cat's care, we'll consider requests case by case.
Regular donations
If you give regularly, you can change or cancel at any time by emailing [email protected]. Regular bank transfers can be changed or stopped through your own bank.
Your privacy
We never sell or share donor details. See our Privacy policy for more.
